Booker T Says UFC Star Ronda Rousey Won't Compete In WWE

Booker T mentioned during an interview at the C2E2 convention in Chicago that he thinks Ronda Rousey won’t wrestle for WWE after her appearance at WrestleMania 31 back in March.

“You know, I see Ronda doing what she does in the UFC. She does it better than anybody. I don’t see her coming into a WWE ring. I don’t think she would have any fun at all in a WWE ring.”
You can watch the interview below:

Rusev Injured At WWE SmackDown Tapings

We noted in our SmackDown spoilers that former United States Champion Rusev may have injured his foot or ankle in the match against Ryback.

Rusev was helped to the back by trainers after the match abruptly ended. Fans noted after the tapings that Rusev was spotted in a wheelchair with a brace on his leg. Below is a pic of him in a wheelchair.

With this injury coming just a few days before the Elimination Chamber PPV, it would be hard for Rusev to compete in the Intercontinental Title Elimination Chamber match.

Breaking News: Ring of Honor Wrestling is Coming to Destination America

Amid rumor and wide-spread speculation that Destination America would be cancelling Impact Wrestling when their contract allows for it later this year, the network has announced a huge, breaking news story this afternoon.

Ring of Honor Wrestling is coming to Destination America. Now, if that date sounds familiar, it’s because Impact Wrestling is moving to Wednesday nights starting – you guessed it – June 3rd at 9PM ET. That means for the foreseeable future, Ring of Honor will act as the new intro program to TNA’s flagship show.

What this means for Impact’s future is unclear. The move to Destination America is a major one for ROH, as the new timeslot means more viewers on a channel that is already bringing in wrestling fans for that block. Finding ROH on TV has been a struggle for many fans around the country, as they only air in certain regions, and generally in the late-night hours over the weekend.

It would appear that the network is trying to double-down on wrestling content on Wednesday nights, in hopes of getting more eyes on Impact Wrestling. June 3rd looks to be something of a “re-launch” as Destination America’s brand new mid-week pro wrestling block.

Goldberg Praises The Undertaker & Talks About His Heel Turn

Mark Suleymanov of The Inquisitr recently spoke with Bill Goldberg. Below are a few highlights:

A heel turn:

“I’m glad because I can be a role model for kids but oh man, did I want to be a heel. I would have been the best Bruiser Brody’ish, bald, freaking monster anybody would have been. People think Brock [Lesnar] is good as a heel, oh man. They turned me one time in WCW in Baltimore, the night before I wrestled Hacksaw Jim Duggan and he just got over surgery and he had cancer. I had to go out and blast him and had a Make-A-Wish girl in the back, with cancer. So I come back after the match and she’s in tears, wrestling is wrestling, I get it, the good, bad and evil and trying to storyline people in and out of what they think is going to happen. But I wasn’t going to do that. I failed as a wrestler in that I didn’t turn heel but I think I won as a human being. Because if there is one girl or one kid that thinks less of me and doesn’t idolize me because of the fictitious stuff I’ve done in the ring in a negative fashion, I don’t want to risk that. I didn’t reach the level I could have reached but it doesn’t matter to me. That one little girl destroyed me and I told them the next day that we’re going back., immediately.”

The Undertaker:

“Mark’s awesome, dude. Talk about revolutionizing the business, he was unbelievable and to see that he still does it in some capacity is unbelievable. And he’s a great guy and I very much appreciate him both in and out of the ring.”

WWE SmackDown Spoilers - May 28, 2015

Below are the spoilers for the go-home edition of WWE SmackDown before Elimination Chamber PPV:

* Dean Ambrose kicks off SmackDown to a huge pop. Ambrose talks about what happened on RAW and mentions Roman Reigns, his name getting a big pop. Ambrose mentions Seth Rollins and Justin Bieber, getting a brief Bieber chant going. He talks about racing back to arena after being arrested and signing the contract. He talks about their fight for the richest price in the industry at Elimination Chamber. Ambrose and Reigns vs. Kane and Rollins is announced for tonight.

* Paige vs. Naomi and Ryback vs. Rusev will also take place tonight.

* Sin Cara and Kalisto vs. Cesaro and Tyson Kidd is next. The Ascension, The New Day, Los Matadores and The Prime Time Players are at ringside acting as Lumberjacks. Multiple “New Day sucks” chants throughout the course of the match. This was a great match with a lot of fast paced high style offense from both teams. A lot of double teaming by both teams. The crowd was hot throughout this match. There was a lot of involvement from the Lumberjacks also. The Lucha Dragons get the win when Kalisto hit his finisher.

* R-Truth vs. King Barrett is next with the Intercontinental Title on display at ringside. Truth wins with his STO finisher in a rather short match. Sheamus ran to the ring afterwards, hitting both Barrett and R-Truth with Brogue kicks.

* Renee Young interviews Lana backstage. Rusev interrupts and has words with Lana.

* Rusev vs. Ryback is next with the IC Title still on display. There were USA, “feed me more” and “we want Lana” chants throughout the match. Rusev hit a fall-away slam outside of the ring at one point. There was a minor injury angle where Rusev sold an ankle or foot injury. There was a lame ending with Ryback winning by DQ when Rusev sent him head first into the ring post. Trainers helped Rusev after the match.

* Paige vs. Naomi with Tamina Snuka is next. Paige took out Tamina at ringside with a kick to the face and went on to defeat Naomi with the cradle DDT.

* Michael Cole comes out and brings Kevin Owens to the ring. He tells Cole he’s been in WWE for two weeks but has been wrestling for 15 years all over the world. Owens talks about John Cena and their match this Sunday. He says Cena has never beaten him and Cena needs to prove something to him. We get a look at Owens destroying Sami Zayn in NXT. Owens says if he did something that bad to someone he cared about, imagine what he will do to Cena.

* Reigns and Ambrose vs. Kane and Rollins is next. Ambrose is out first, followed by Reigns who received a huge pop, in fact the biggest of the night. Rollins is out next with Kane and J&J Security. Reigns and Kane start off the match and Rollins sent Ambrose flying off the apron into the barricade. Rollins and Kane are sent out of the ring. Ambrose and Reigns go to attack them and bring them back in. Reigns and Ambrose win via DQ when J&J interfered after Reigns pinned Rollins following a Superman Punch. The New Day run down and beat down Ambrose but Reigns takes them all out with a diving plancha. Dean and Roman clean house, leaving New Day laid out. Rollins and Kane beat down Ambrose. Rollins hits a Pedigree on Ambrose. Kane and Rollins end SmackDown to boos. Reigns got the biggest pop of the night but Ambrose was a close second.

Hulk Hogan Landing A Major Movie Role

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan recently went on a press tour and had mentioned that he's training for a match at WrestleMania 32 as well as hints of his next movie project.

During a Q&A session at Body Pro Expo in England, Hogan had indicated he's up for a villain role in the next Expendables movie.

Below is what Hogan said:

"Was talking on the phone with Sly [Stallone] about doing The Expendables 4. We’re trying to figure out a way to maybe turn me into the most evil man in the world. Y’know, Stallone gave me my first break and he’s been a great friend. We had a great conversation, talking about the possibilities. Can I still run, can I still jump? Well, not as fast or not as high, but I think Hollywood could find a good stunt man to help me out."

Stallone inducted Hogan in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and, yes, gave him his first film role in Rocky III as Thunderlips.

Backstage Heat For Dolph Ziggler, NXT Diva Upset About Fake Nudes

* We noted before that Dolph Ziggler had to get 10 stitches after his match with Sheamus at WWE Payback. Ziggler had heat backstage after busting himself open with headbutts. Word is that WWE officials thought it was “dumb and reckless.”

* WWE NXT Diva Alexa Bliss is upset about some fake nude photos going around. She tweeted the following:

The risqué photos on the Internet supposedly of me are totally bogus.

* After this week’s Raw went off the air on Long Island, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns eventually made their exit before Randy Orton made his way out for the dark main event. Orton reportedly received one of the biggest pops of the night.

Orton faced Bray Wyatt and defeated him with a RKO after countering Sister Abigail. Orton greeted fans at ringside and took selfies with some to end the show and send the crowd home happy.

With the Nassau Coliseum closing soon, Orton vs. Wyatt is the final wrestling match to take place in the venue.

Real Reason For Daniel Bryan's Return At Elimination Chamber, Original Plans for Owens - Cena

* Daniel Bryan will be appearing on the WWE Elimination Chamber Kickoff Pre-show in a MizTV segment with The Miz. Bryan’s new WWE DVD comes out next Tuesday so that’s likely the main reason for the appearance.

* WWE originally wanted to do the Kevin Owens vs. John Cena program later this summer but it was rushed to Elimination Chamber, which allowed them to also promote the NXT Takeover: Unstoppable event with the free month of WWE Network in May. WWE obviously has big plans for Owens.

* The man who payed the camera man on last night’s WWE RAW in the angle with Dean Ambrose was Ring of Honor regular Will Ferrara.

Kurt Angle Having Issues With Triple H ?

The Mirror in the UK recently spoke with current TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle, who is set to defend his title against Ethan Carter III at Slammiversary, to promote the upcoming Slammiversary pay-per-view. Below are the highlights of the questions asked regarding him contacting WWE for a contract last year:

Last year you openly discussed your plan to finish your contract with TNA in September and re-sign with WWE to finish out your career. Can you clear up what happened there?

You know what, when it came down to it, I talked to both companies and it was an easy decision. From every perspective, from amount of dates, to the amount of money, to the amount of interest, it wasn’t a hard decision – TNA trumped the WWE. And for whatever reason, maybe the WWE didn’t think I could still go, maybe they just wanted to start grooming younger talent, although they’ve obviously hired Sting, brought in Batista and brought guys back like Jericho… I don’t know the full story, it could be anything, but when it came down to it I had my options open. I never said I was going to leave TNA and I never said I wouldn’t go back to WWE, but when I looked at the best scenario for me, hands down it was TNA. It wasn’t something I had to sit down and think about for hours, the writing was on the wall. It was TNA for one more year.

It’s been reported in some quarters that you didn’t want to work a full-time schedule. It’s also been suggested it was a case of personal differences between you and Triple H, after you approached Vince McMahon rather than him. Is that true?

I don’t think so, I don’t think that Triple H and I have any problems with each other, I’ve always liked him. He’s always treated me with respect and I’ve always treated him the same. No, I don’t think it was that. There was a point when my manager talked to them and I believe they did say ‘he would have to wrestle full-time’. That is not an option for me, not at this point in my career. So, whether that was part of it, honestly I just don’t think they had that much interest in signing Kurt Angle at that point. For whatever reason, it could have been my mishaps in my past, it could have been that they didn’t think I was healthy enough to go – and obviously I am – but we never got a full answer of why they couldn’t give me what I wanted. And it wasn’t just what I wanted, it was a reduced schedule, but there was no option.

Dixie Carter gave me exactly what I wanted and it wasn’t a hard decision. I wasn’t upset, I was excited about signing another year with TNA. I think they did an incredible job this year. They had to refocus, they had to re-group, they had some issues in the past, and I think they’ve done an incredible job of making their way back. Are they back to what they were? No. But they’re on their way and they’re doing so many good things right now that make me excited about being part of the company.

Jim Ross Talks About Sunny Possibly Doing Adult Movies

In his latest blog, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross wrote the following about fellow Hall of Famer Sunny possibly doing adult movies in the future:

“Contrary to what some have asked me on Twitter I have not been conversing with Sunny on Twitter about the possibility her doing porn. That’s a faux JR Twitter account she thought was me, apparently. We haven’t communicated since her WWE HOF induction and I find it none of my business if she does or does not decide to make an adult movie. It’s not against the law and people have to do what they can to earn a honest living. It’s an undesirable trait of many in the entertainment businesses that performers get themselves into a situation that they have to do things that they normally might not do to pay their bills after their ‘run’ has concluded. It takes me back to my ‘Plan B’ philosophy that so many talents rolled their eyes at when I used to preach that philosophy. Nonetheless, I wish Sunny the best no matter what her decision might be.”

More News On Current WWE Star Returning To Ring Of Honor

As noted, Samoa Joe is working under a unique type of WWE NXT deal which allows him the freedom to work elsewhere in addition to WWE.

Ring of Honor issued the following press release:

Ring of Honor returns to Terminal 5 in New York City – and to pay-per-view – on June 19th for BEST IN THE WORLD! This is a can’t-miss event headlined by the “Battle of the Belts” between ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe and ROH World Television Champion Jay Lethal. But the very next night, the stars of Ring of Honor will be BACK at Terminal 5 on the first stop of the AFTERSHOCK tour!
The entire landscape of ROH is guaranteed to change on June 19th – new number one contenders, possible new champions, and a lot of new hostility. And all of that will spill over into June 20th! Nigel McGuinness will no doubt have his hands full sorting through the fallout from BEST IN THE WORLD. But until then he’s been busy signing matches NO ONE expected to happen, and today he wants to announce to the world what he’s lined up for June 20th…
- THE ADDICTION (CHRISTOPHER DANIELS & FRANKIE KAZARIAN) vs. AJ STYLES & SAMOA JOE
This is the definition of a DREAM MATCH! That distinction gets thrown around perhaps too often, but in this situation there is simply no other way to describe it. The four men battling against each other on June 20th represent so much history and competition, not just in Ring of Honor but in all of professional wrestling. And, of course, The Addiction are the current ROH World Tag Team Champions. We have confirmed that as of now no titles will be on the line for this contest…meaning the stakes are even higher with respect and honor hanging in the balance!
The long, competitive history between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe could fill an entire volume of professional wrestling history. These two giants of the sport have spent over a decade trying to outdo each other and there is no doubt that rivalry remains heated even as they are set to team up on June 20th. Currently, AJ Styles is at the absolute top of his game, the current IWGP Heavyweight Champion who many unequivocally name the absolute best in the world. But Samoa Joe’s return to his roots has made him the hottest, most in demand athlete in the sport. These are two men who just keep getting better. Is there any way to stop the team of AJ Styles and Samoa Joe?
As the self-styled “World Tag Team Champions of the World,” The Addiction are THE team to beat in Ring of Honor. While this may be a non-title contest, The Addiction are more than happy to point out that their long tenure as partners puts them at an advantage over virtually any other team, and now they’ve memorialized their superiority in gold. On top of that, these competitors have a long history with each other, particularly Daniels and Styles – no matter the time or the place, The Fallen Angel and The Phenomenal AJ Styles have always been linked. They have been partners and rivals… and on June 20th they compete against each other one more time!
Styles & Joe are not being considered for a championship match due to the questionable stability of the team. But The Addiction, although claiming to be defending ROH Tag Team Champions, have not offered to put the titles on the line. Will The Addiction speak up? Will The Addiction even be the champions once June 20th rolls around?
This DREAM MATCH is just one bout signed for this huge event in New York City. Plus, our television cameras will be rolling as the entire night is filmed for future episodes of ROH TV! Don’t miss your chance to feel the AFTERSHOCK on June 20th! To get your tickets before they sell out, click HERE!

Latest News On Sami Zayn's Injury Status

According to latest reports, WWE NXT star Sami Zayn is in Birmingham, Alabama, likely to schedule shoulder surgery.

As noted Zayn came into his match against John Cena on Raw with the shoulder already bothering him, and he further injured his shoulder during the bout.

Zayn has dealt with this injury before, and while no timeline for his return was given, Hideo Itami recently had similar surgery which will keep him out of the ring for 6-8 months. So expect Sami Zayn to be out for a long time.

Zayn was written off NXT TV at Takeover Unstoppable.

Veteran Talent Leaving TNA, Bad News For Ryback, Samoa Joe - Main Roster News

* Christy Hemme has reportedly given notice to TNA and will be leaving soon. She will reportedly be working a great job outside of pro wrestling. Hemme has been with TNA since 2006, most recently working with creative. There was some speculation that she may still work a role at TV tapings but that’s not confirmed and most people believe she’s leaving altogether.

* TNA has a meeting scheduled for this afternoon where they may discuss the reports on Destination America but as of this morning, Dixie Carter had not addressed them yet. There have been several people within TNA unhappy because nothing has been said past the e-mail statement that TNA issued before.

* There has been some concern over Ryback’s ribs and word is that he was either scheduled for x-rays or has already had them. It was said that things “didn’t look good” after an initial assessment.

* Latest reports suggest that Samoa Joe could be using the same name on the main roster as well.

Kevin Nash Wants A Proper Retirement Match

WWE Hall Of Famer Kevin Nash noted on Twitter that he wants to have one more match in WWE & that would be his official retirement match.

Below is what Kevin Nash tweeted:

Would love to do a real retirement match. With a build up on the Network training, like a 24/7 HBO deal. WWE put me out of my misery.
Kevin Nash was last seen on WWE TV at WrestleMania 31 when he along with Scott Hall & Hulk Hogan came out as the nWo to save Sting from DX.

Nash's last WWE match was in 2011 when he faced Triple H in a Sledgehammer Ladder match at TLC 2011 PPV on December 18.

Scott Hall Working With WWE NXT In The Future?

We noted over the weekend that Al Haft, who has ties to the “I Believe In Wrestling” dojo that WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall works with, sent word that Hall may be done with Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling due to WWE. Here’s what Haft sent to us:

“There was some talk at Jersey Championship Wrestling that Scott Hall was pulling out of Global Force Wrestling due to the size they were becoming and not wanting to upset WWE especially after Hall’s WrestleMania appearance.”

It appears there may be more to the rumors of Hall working for WWE soon. This weekend I spoke with promoter Ricky Otazu, who put on the event in New Jersey that an intoxicated Hall was escorted out of earlier this month. Otazu says one of the reasons he was begging Hall to leave the event in New Jersey was because Hall had previously told them that he was going to work for WWE NXT in the coming weeks and they didn’t want him to jeopardize that.

Otazu added that Sean “X-Pac” Waltman and other people were pleading with Hall to leave the event in Jersey because any negative news could cost him his spot with WWE. Of course TMZ broke the story that weekend but we haven’t heard anything about heat from WWE yet.

Samoa Joe Reveals Why He Left TNA Wrestling

Samoa Joe recently spoke with The LAW: Live Audio Wrestling and revealed why he decided to leave TNA Wrestling. Here’s what Joe had to say on the topic:

“I think the decision was made in the final few weeks. I’ve often been called by people loyal to a fault, and I didn’t feel the mission was accomplished in TNA yet. I’d done my best throughout my career to help try to build the company and bring it into prominence. It’s had its ups and down and pitfalls here and there, and I don’t feel that job was finished yet. Towards the end there, there were some apparent things and incidents that kinda showed me that maybe it was time for me to move on and maybe it was better for me, both personally and professionally, to explore other options and explore other things. I’ve gotta admit, I’m not unhappy with my decision. I’m unhappy that I didn’t get the opportunity to kinda finish out what I wanted to start in TNA, but at the same time, so many great things have popped up since that I’m very, very satisfied with the decision that I made.”

Cesaro & Tyson Kidd To Get A Push As Singles Wrestlers

The tag team of Tyson Kidd and Cesaro may be splitting up later this year but it could be best for business, literally. Triple H has reportedly been trying to get Vince McMahon to open his mind to the fact that Kidd and Cesaro are so good and over enough that they should be pushed as singles wrestlers by the end of the summer.

This could mean that Kidd is going for a secondary title but it would still be a singles push. Regarding Cesaro, talk for over a year has been that it’s “now or never” with him but he’s still well-liked backstage and it could be the right time to run with a big babyface push for Cesaro.

WWE Officials Working On A Match Between Seth Rollins & Triple H

WWE officials have begun planting seeds for a possible Triple H vs Seth Rollins feud according to The Wrestling Observer. During Monday’s RAW when Triple H and Stephanie McMahon threw a celebratory party for Rollins, Triple H said he sees the reflection of himself in Rollins. With that being said and Rollins adopting the Pedigree as his finisher there is talk of the two Superstars clashing in the future in a high profile bout.

Since this match won't happen anytime soon, it likely won't be for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as Rollins is scheduled to lose the title this summer. Seth Rollins - Triple H feud would likely happen some time in 2016. As far as Rollins's title defence against Dean Ambrose at Elimination Chamber goes he's expected to retain the title as current plans have Rollins walking into SummerSlam as the WWE World Champion.

So expect Rollins to retain the title at Elimination Chamber, Money in the Bank & Battleground pay per view as well. Current plan for this year's SummerSlam main event is for Seth Rollins to defend the WWE Title against Brock Lesnar. There have been talks of adding Roman Reigns to the match as well.

New WWE Gimmick Revealed for Bad News Barrett

A promo will air on tonight’s WWE SmackDown where Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett cuts a promo on Dean Ambrose.

Barrett does the promo in front of a monitor that says “BNZ.” The font is similar to TMZ’s logo and Barrett now breaks his bad news courtesy of the “Bad News Zone.” This is a play off TMZ being the “Ten Mile Zone.”

Barrett closed his promo by telling fans to stay tuned to “BNZ” for more breaking news. No word yet if this is a new angle Barrett is working or if it was just a one time gimmick for this week.
