JBL Explains “Zombie Eddie Guerrero” Comments from RAW

Some fans were offended by JBL's comments on last night's Raw during Luke Harper vs. Ryback match. When Harper came over the top rope, JBL said that he looked like a “zombie Eddie Guerrero.” JBL later cleared all the confusion later on his Facebook page:

“The spot with Luke Harper I saw some Twitter comments over. I had just mentioned Walking Dead show and Luke does the ‘Eddie’ spot over the top rope, my comment (since I had mentioned Rick Grimes before toward Luke) was ‘it looks like a zombie Eddie Guerrero’. This was a WALKING DEAD reference toward Luke-who I have said before looks like a ‘walker’.

I would NEVER insult my friend Eddie, for those who took it wrong-sorry about that, but it is what it is.”

Road Warrior Animal’s Son Responds to The Ascension’s Promo

Road Warrior Animal’s son, James Laurinaitis, noted in a recent interview with Primetime that he hasn’t watched much pro wrestling since his father left the business and that he didn’t know who won the Royal Rumble. He had heard about The Ascension’s promo ripping the Road Warriors, which he called “laughable.”

He said that if Hawk was still alive, Animal would probably go back to WWE to work a program with The Ascension.

Big Fight Discussed for Brock Lesnar Within UFC

There is a very high possibility that the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar might not re-sign with WWE after WrestleMania 31 (where he is supposed to pass the torch). With that being said, UFC is currently the place where Lesnar is the most favorite to go. Although UFC President Dana White stated in an interview that he had no conversation with Lesnar regarding a possible return to UFC, apparently there have been talks about potential fights for Lesnar if he returns.
One of those fights was discussed to be against Frank Mir. Lesnar previously lost to Mir by submission at UFC 81, which was Lesnar’s UFC debut. Lesnar then defeated Mir by TKO at UFC 100 to unify the titles. Mir’s last UFC fight came in February 2014, a loss to Alistair Overeem at UFC 169.
The UFC 100 Pay-Per-View, which was headlined by Lesnar & Mir, is the most bought UFC pay-per-view of all time with a buyrate of 1.6 million. If there ever is a Lesnar-Mir III, then it will definitely be a big money match!

The Rock Scheduled To Be In The Royal Rumble ?

WWE has confirmed that The Rock is backstage at the Royal Rumble PPV. According to MetsFan4Ever, a former WWE employee who has his sources within the WWE and has revealed many inside stories, revealed that WWE officials have had a serious discussion regarding The Rock entering the Rumble match and winning it, which will lead to Rock vs. Brock at WrestleMania, which Vince McMahon wants to see for a few years now.
He also told that if the officials do not book this, then The Rock might appear in a backstage segment to put over Roman Reigns.
He also says that WWE officials have considered having Bray Wyatt win the Royal Rumble Match. Many people in WWE have high hopes for Wyatt and “feel the sky is the limit for him.”
As of now, Sheamus is not scheduled to return tonight, but Randy Orton is backstage at the event, however it is not confirmed if WWE will be using him or not, as he was backstage at the TLC PPV as well.

List Of All The Rumored Surprise Entrants in the Royal Rumble Match

The speciality of the Royal Rumble match is that we get to see surprise entrants, which includes Legends as well as Superstars who return after a hiatus.

Here's a list of this year's rumored surprise entrants in the Rumble match:

Rob Van Dam - RVD is rumored to be a surprise entrant in the match, but it is still unknown whether it's just a 1 appearance deal, or a part time deal for a few months (possibly till WrestleMania).

Dudley Boyz - The Dudley Boyz, who have never participated in a Royal Rumble match, have been in talks with WWE officials for a while now about returning to their programming, and they are rumored to be the surprise entrants in the Royal Rumble match at the moment (not confirmed).  There were reports last year that one of the two could end up in NXT as a trainer but we haven’t heard anything else about that.

Diamond Dallas Page - Another surprise entrant that the WWE officials want is a multiple time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Diamond Dallas Page. Officials have wanted to do a program with DDP for a long time now, and it looks like they are finally going for it. If they go with this plan, then lets hope we get to see a confrontation between him & Randy Orton, who is expected to be back for the 30-man Royal Rumble match. It would be great to see the “Diamond Cutter vs. RKO” & interesting to found out if DDP can take some revenge on Orton for stealing his move!

Bo Dallas - It is expected that Bo Dallas will make a return to WWE TV at this event. He has been out of action since last November due to an injury.

Randy Orton - Orton has been advertised for several WWE events (including the Royal Rumble PPV) for quite sometime now, and has not yet made his return to WWE TV. This has lead to much speculation that he will be returning in the Royal Rumble match (given the fact that his surgery was planned in time so that he could return in time for the Rumble match).

* According to reports, 2 spots have been locked for entrants from NXT. There is a possibility that we might see Baron Corbin in the Rumble match.

Huge WrestleMania 31 Three-Way with The Underaker?, Reigns’ Title Win, More

We noted earlier that the latest issues between Triple H and Vince McMahon have to do with WrestleMania 31 plans and the creative direction of Triple H’s character when he returns to TV. It was noted that Triple H wants to face Sting at WrestleMania but Vince wants to do Sting vs. The Undertaker.

However, Vince is okay with Triple H vs. Sting if Taker doesn’t return, which is why they began the Triple H – Sting feud at Survivor Series.

With that said, Triple H wants a match at WrestleMania against Sting whether Taker returns or not.

Triple H has floated the idea of doing a three-way with Taker vs. Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 31. A source noted that this might not be a bad idea after all because it would be easier to carry Taker. The outcome that was pitched would see Reigns pin Taker if Lesnar re-signs with WWE or Reigns pin Lesnar if Brock doesn’t re-sign with WWE.

Former WWF & WCW Wrestler Passes Away

Wrestling Legend David Ferrier, better known as Jimmy Del Ray in WWE and Jimmy Graffiti in WCW, passed away last night due to what is believed to be a heart attack. He was only 52.

Del Ray appeared in WWE with Jim Cornette and Tom Prichard as The Heavenly Bodies and lost to The Steiner Brothers at SummerSlam 1993. Their last WWE pay-per-view appearance came at Survivor Series 1994. The team later appeared for ECW and Del Ray went on to WCW as Jimmy Graffiti.

In recent years, Del Ray had been running a flooring company in Florida. He made his final wrestling appearance this past summer, reuniting with Cornette and Prichard at the Mid-Atlantic Legends Fanfest.

CM Punk Will Fight in the UFC, Former WWE Champion Announces at UFC 181

CM Punk will fight in the UFC Octagon.

The former WWE champion, who abruptly departed the pro wrestling world earlier this year, is switching over to full-time professional MMA. That's the scoop straight from the horse's mouth, as Punk himself broke the news to UFC broadcaster Joe Rogan Saturday night during the pay-per-view broadcast of UFC 181.

"It's awesome to be here. It's very awesome to be here," Punk told Rogan during the interview. "You know, this is something that's been in the back of my mind for a very, very long time. I have a background in kenpo, I've done Brazilian jiu-jitsu off and on for a very, very long time, but the idea of being able to step in the Octagon and find out what's inside myself and test myself is an opportunity I was not able to deny myself."

Punk (real name Phillip Brooks) said his weight class is still uncertain, though he will "most likely" fight at middleweight. A test weight cut will help him decide for sure, though, and Punk said "welterweight might be there." Light heavyweight, he said, is not an option.

No opponent or date were announced for Punk's Octagon debut.

"This is my new career, 100 percent," Punk told Rogan. "I'm going to go full steam ahead, all systems go."

WWF Legend Not Coming Back to WWE after all ?

After speculation regarding Kurt Angle could potentially jump ship back to WWE, the TNA Hall of Famer has now re-signed with Impact Wrestling, according to Vince Russo.

Following an interview with Angle on his podcast “The Swerve”, Russo revealed that Angle told him that he will return to TNA despite a WWE comeback was potentially in the cards.

“Kurt basically tweeted me back today and he said, ‘Vince, it’s still unofficial, but I have no problem telling you or you announcing or you saying on your show that I’m going to go back to work for TNA,'” Russo said.

TNA has also released promotional material that includes Angle’s name, per Discovery Communications.

WWE’s website is no longer listing WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar for next week’s Slammy Awards RAW from Greenville, South Carolina. Lesnar had been advertised for a few months now.
The Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville has also pulled Lesnar from their website listing for RAW.

Backstage Update on Plans for WWE Title Match, TLC Main Event

We’ve noted how there was talk of having #1 contender John Cena get his title shot against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar at this month’s TLC pay-per-view.

Vince McMahon continues to go back and forth on the match happening at TLC. There are just two RAW episodes left until TLC and with no mention of the title or Cena being #1 contender on RAW this past week, there’s a feeling that the match won’t take place at TLC.

Original plans had Cena getting the title shot at the Royal Rumble, which could be the direction they’re going in. As noted, there has also been talk of having Cena face Seth Rollins and Randy Orton at TLC but we should have a better idea of TLC plans after this week’s RAW.

WWE Asks Steve Austin If He Will Wrestle Again, Wants to Ask Vince About CM Punk Tonight

WWE’s website has a new interview with Steve Austin to promote tonight’s live podcast with Vince McMahon on the WWE Network after RAW goes off the air.

Austin commented on how podcasting is different than working the microphone in WWE:
“Interviewing somebody is a lot different than being handed a stick in a 20,000-seat arena and trying to sell tickets. You’re very green when you start. I’m still learning things to this day. I’m decent at interviews now, but man, getting people to buy tickets is the easiest thing in the world for me. We’ve already set the hook, so I’m on cruise control. For the openings of my show, I’m sitting at my house with a Zoom H4n Recorder and a Shure microphone and I stop and start up to 15 or 70 or more times, because I didn’t feel like the material was good enough. What I love about podcasting is it’s guerilla radio. I don’t have to stick to anybody’s protocol or format. I can operate my show just like I want to, but at the end of the day, it’s just a can of audio whoopa**. My show is built to entertain.”

Austin was asked the one thing he wants Vince to answer tonight. He replied:
“Nothing is off limits. There’s a line that I won’t cross, but that’s for my standards — nothing that WWE has told me. There are many things I’d like to ask him. I’d like to know what’s going on with CM Punk. I’d like to know how Daniel Bryan’s health is. I’d like to know whose idea it was in Atlanta [that made me] take my ball and go home in 2002. I reacted the worst way possible, but I want to know who came up with that masterpiece of an idea. Guys like me come along very seldom in the wrestling business. You can count ’em on a couple of fingers.”

Austin was also asked if he will be returning to the ring. He replied:
“As we speak right now, no.”

WWE RAW Preview for Tonight – Austin Appearing?

Tonight’s WWE RAW will take place from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We know that tonight’s show will have a Cyber Monday theme where fans get to pick matches and stipulations. The Anonymous RAW General Manager will be running things.

No matches have been announced but we should get more of the TLC card finalized. WWE is advertising John Cena, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and Kane. It’s worth noting that Steve Austin will be in the arena for his live podcast with Vince McMahon so a live appearance is always possible.

WWE is focusing on the following points for tonight:

* The return of “order and discipline” on Cyber Monday

* A New Day arrives on RAW

* Will Ryback get payback on Kane?

* Can AJ Lee reclaim her Divas Title?

* How will Dolph Ziggler impress this week?

Backstage Update on Sting vs. Triple H and Sting vs. The Undertaker

We noted before that there was still talk during Survivor Series weekend that Sting would be facing The Undertaker in his first match for WWE.

Then after Sting debuted at Survivor Series, word came out last week that Sting may end up wrestling more than one match for WWE but they were apparently building to a match against Triple H.

Rob Feinstein of RF Video, who has broken many scoops in the past, wrote several hours before Sting’s debut that he heard The Undertaker wouldn’t be facing Sting and that a match with Triple H was in the works. Feinstein wrote the following hours before Survivor Series:

“From what I been hearing I think Undertaker is done and the plans are for Sting and HHH at Mania…but anything can change but that is what I have been told”.

Triple H Wants to Kill CM Punk ?

Paul “Triple H” Levesque was among those hit the hardest in Punk’s two-hour long speech as The Straight Edge Superstar addressed his issues with the WWE executive throughout the show. During his meeting with Levesque and McMahon that led to his exit from WWE, Punk went off on Levesque for not putting him over in 2011 in their match at Night of Champions PPV when he was riding high on the momentum from his infamous “pipe bomb” promo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon being told by McMahon that he would be wrestling Levesque in a ‘main event’ at WrestleMania 30, Punk recalled turning to Hunter to say, ‘All due respect, I do not need to wrestle you, you need to wrestle me. I do not want to wrestle you. I seriously resent you for not putting me over three years ago when you should have. That would have been best for business but you had to f–king come in and squash it. And then I had to lose to f–king Truth and Miz. It didn’t make any business sense then, it doesn’t make any business sense now, and I am in a position now where I can tell you that I don’t have to nor do I want to wrestle you at WrestleMania. I don’t care if I was supposed to win.’”

Punk then noted, “Which I was. I didn’t care. I didn’t want to give him the f–king privilege. I said a lot of s–t in there. I told them again and Hunter, he was gritting his teeth and I knew… he never liked me. It’s one of those situations where you always hear those stories in the dirt sheets about ‘Hunter says this about Punk’ and all this negative stuff but me and him in a room together? Never any good vibes. Always negative, the way he would always look sideways at me, the way he always treated me.”

Levesque is furious with Punk over his remarks. Bryan Alvarez from F4WOnline said he received a text message from a person in WWE reading ‘Triple H wants to kill Punk.’

- F4WOnline is reporting former WWF wrestler James “Kamala” Harris was recently readmitted to the hospital earlier this week for a bad stomach infection.
We had previously reported Harris was in the hospital a few weeks ago, when he was admitted for a case of peritonitis, which led to surgery and a stay in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

- Former WWE Tag Team Champion Rob Conway turns 42. Also, today would have been the 76th birthday of WWE Hall of Famer “The Big Cat” Ernie Ladd.

WWE Mentions Sting's Past in TNA

When Sting made his WWE debut at the Survivor Series this past Sunday night, JBL noted that Sting was a 6-time WCW World Champion and a 2-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Out of these 2 NWA World Title reigns, one of them was in TNA back when TNA recognized that championship, so WWE technically acknowledged a part of Sting's career in TNA.
