WWE Pisses Off Live Crowd Before RAW Airs

Before last night's RAW in San Antonio began, WWE made a mistake and got a big negative reaction from the crowd when they aired the Miami Heat video of LeBron James giving his teammates WWE Title replicas.

San Antonio is home to Heat rivals the Spurs and this didn't go over well with the crowd.

WrestleMania Plans Change for Top Star

Zeb Colter continues to tweet about The Real Americans getting a WWE Tag Team Title shot at WrestleMania XXX after their non-title win over The Usos last night. While Cesaro was previously announced for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on a German RAW broadcast, he’s likely being removed from the match and put into a tag team title match.

UFC’s Ronda Rousey Wrestling a Match at WrestleMania ?

TMZ has posted the footage of UFC women’s champion Ronda Rousey practicing pro wrestling moves with roommate and fellow UFC fighter Shayna Baszler last week.
TMZ reports that Rousey would be interested in wrestling a match at WrestleMania but this year’s show is out of the question, due to her training and movies. Rousey apparently would be willing to appear at WrestleMania 31 next year, as long as her “Four Horsewomen crew” can come with her – Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke.

Triple H Knocks CM Punk

It was noted at last night’s RAW that there was no footage of CM Punk vs. The Undertaker in the video package that Paul Heyman presented, showing Taker’s recent WrestleMania matches against people Brock Lesnar has dominated. It was also said that Triple H’s line to Daniel Bryan about “not taking your ball and going home” was a shot at Punk.

This Day in Wrestling - Last WCW PPV [March 18, 2001]

WCW held its “Greed” pay-per-view event at the Memorial Coliseum in Jacksonville, Florida. Greed would be the final pay-per-view event from the company, as it was purchased by the World Wrestling Federation later that week. The next WCW pay-per-view event was scheduled (and was even advertised in the final issue of WCW Magazine) for May 6, and entitled “The Big Bang”, billed as “the creation of the new WCW”, most likely after Eric Bischoff’s intended purchase of WCW from AOL-Time Warner, along with investment group Fusient Media Ventures. Greed got a 0.1 buyrate, and its results were:
- Jason Jett pinned Kwee Wee after a Crash Landing.
- Kid Romeo and Elix Skipper defeated Billy Kidman and Rey Misterio, Jr., when Romeo pinned Misterio after a Last Kiss, to become the first WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions.
- Shawn Stasiak (with Stacy Keibler) pinned Bam Bam Bigelow after a Hangman’s Neckbreaker.
- Team Canada (Mike Awesome and Lance Storm) defeated Konnan and Hugh Morrus, when Awesome pinned Morrus after a Awesome Bomb.
- Shane Helms pinned WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero, Jr. after a Vertebreaker to win the title, ending Guerrero’s second reign.
- WCW World Tag Team Champions The Natural Born Thrillers (Sean O’Haire and Chuck Palumbo) defeated Totally Buff (Buff Bagwell and Lex Luger) to retain the title. O’Haire pinned Luger after a Jungle Kick from Palumbo and Palumbo pinned Bagwell after a Seanton Bomb from O’Haire.
- Ernest Miller (with Ms. Jones) pinned Kanyon after a Roundhouse kick.
- Booker T pinned WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Rick Steiner after a Book End to win the title.
- Dusty and Dustin Rhodes defeated Ric Flair and Jeff Jarrett, when Dustin pinned Flair with a roll-up. The match stipulation was that the loser of the fall would have to kiss the butt of the winner of the fall. Although Dustin pinned Flair, Jarrett ended up kissing Dusty’s.
- WCW World Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner (with Midajah) defeated Diamond Dallas Page in a Falls Count Anywhere match, when Page passed out while in the Steiner Recliner, to retain the title.

Backstage News on Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

For what it’s worth, it was noted on last night’s RAW that the winner of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXX will carry the Andre statue for the next year. It’s possible they do the match annually.

WWE & Eminem Team Up

The latest theme song for WrestleMania XXX is Eminem’s “Legacy” single. It was used in the video package for John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt.

Is JBL Behind the CrankyVince Twitter Account ?

The identity of the individual behind the “Cranky Vince” Twitter account that parodies WWE chief Vince McMahon and has leaked confidential WWE information on occasion may have been revealed tonight as an employee within WWE – JBL.
During RAW, both the WWE announcer and the parody account published the exact same message at 7:15 p.m. Central time: “THAT is how you start @wwe Raw! Wow! #RoadtoWrestlemania.”

Layfield has gone on Twitter tonight denying any involvement with the “Cranky Vince” account. Shortly after publishing a fan message stating, “This came from an iPhone. @CrankyVince tweet came from a web browser after this one. Obvious neckbeard trying to frame,” the WWE broadcaster wrote on Twitter, “No prob with anyone on twitter, but any claims or questions of me being someone else will get blocked immediately #notTrue.”
Layfield has in the past been accused by multiple additional parties of having ties to the account. Based on extensive research, Mister Saint Laurent of MLW Radio is convinced that the WWE announcer has posted messages as “Cranky Vince.” Former WWE and WCW competitor Konnan, who co-hosts the radio show with Laurent, has also vouched his claim. Last March, he stated on Twitter, “I agree with MSL..His work has been CSI meticulous..JBL u have been outed pardna.” Furthermore, a similar incident to today occurred last year as according to a writer for thepit-se.com, a sports and entertainment website, both accounts published the same message minutes, if not seconds, within each other. The message was quickly deleted from the “Cranky Vince” account.
The parody account is known for spoofing McMahon’s demeanor and mindset with random musings depicting the WWE Chairman as eccentric, maniacal and drug-addled. It has drawn concern from organization officials in recent years, who believed it was being controlled by an employee within proximity of McMahon due to the eerie nature of the tweets. The account would often post messages based on things he had legitimately done or said at work—sometimes moments after occurring.

Big Angle with The Undertaker After RAW

WWE taped the RAW Backstage Pass post-show tonight from a different location in the arena as they resumed dark main events after taking a few weeks off since the Network launched.
Tonight’s dark main event segment saw John Cena come out but was confronted by Erick Rowan and Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family. This led to The Undertaker coming out to a massive pop, as heard on the post-show. Taker helped Cena fight off Rowan and Harper to end the show.

King Kong Bundy admits he killed Little Beaver

King Kong Bundy has finally ended over 25 years of speculation in an exclusive interview, stating emphatically that he is responsible for killing midget-wrestler Little Beaver via bodyslam, followed by a “big elbow” in 1987.

Bundy told :
“Yeah. He died of emphysema in 1995. ‘Cause I squished the air right out of those tiny lungs in ’87 and he never recovered,” the remorseless Bundy said.

“It just took a while. Just like it takes a while for the ref to count to 5!” Bundy added with a chuckle.

The reporters reached out to “Hillbilly” Jim for a comment, who also took part in the mixed-tag WrestleMania 3 event.
“That dag gum Bundy better be carful a-whut he says or I’m a-gonna sick Granny & my houn’ dog on ‘em,” the country boy responded between belches and slugs of moonshine.

RVD Reveals Why He Didn’t Re-sign with TNA and Went to WWE

WWE part-timer Rob Van Dam recently spoke to Chris Jericho on his “Talk is Jericho” podcast about how he almost stuck around longer in TNA, but essentially they took too long to get a deal signed.
RVD said that his three-year contract with TNA ended last year, and even though they used up all of his dates, they still continued to use him. When it came time to renegotiate a new deal with TNA, they talked about every single term. He said that he was really looking forward to the deal, but then the company started slacking and they kept giving him the run-around. Officials then started to pass the blame around as to why the company was taking so long until RVD had finally had enough.
“I got to a point where I was offended,” RVD admitted. “It struck my ego. So I was just like, ‘Well, screw them!’”
RVD said it was then when he reached out to World Wrestling Entertainment.

On This Day In Wrestling : WrestleMania X8 - March 17, 2002

Former WCW Wrestler Rips John Cena & Randy Orton

Former WCW Wrestler Scotty Riggs was recently interviewed. Here are some highlights:

John Cena: "Every single match is the same, and it is sickening. Five simple moves every match. When it is time for Cena's comeback it is the same moves, boom, boom, boom. That does not suspend any disbelief. That is what wrestlers are supposed to do, have the craft to anywhere in the match a finish can come up.

"Cena has mixed himself with the Super Cena thing, which is what Vince McMahon has a hard on for, he is a good guy that is so good that it is sickening. That is why so many people don't like him. Cena is WWE's cash cow. When I am watching Cena I feel like I am watching a TV commercial. Everything he is doing, he is selling cereal, he is selling t-shirts, he is selling something in everything he does."

Randy Orton: "Randy Orton just can't seem to find something that fits. He's got all the tools in the world, and every opportunity, but he is not allowed to be himself."

The difference between WWE and WCW: "WWE is a TV show about wrestling, WCW in their prime was a TV show that had happened to have wrestling on it."

WWE Network: "I'm one of those guys that I rarely ever watch my old matches. The only thing I think would be really good about WWE Network is finding stuff that fans don't know that used to be wrestling like is different than what WWE is giving them now. If WWE gives them what USWA used to be, what World Class used to be, what Florida Championship Wrestling was, if what wrestling really was in the '70s, '80s, I think it would be good because it will teach fans what wrestling was. It could hurt them (WWE) because fans can say I like 'wrestling' not 'sports entertainment' stuff."

Hulk Hogan returning to WWE: "Hulk Hogan, even at his age, still has the 'It Factor'. The crowd loves the nostalgia that he brings. It's the same old thing, over and over again, but the fans still dig that. It still captures their childhood imagination."

Recently catching up with Dennis Rodman: "He is the most personable, charming person you will ever meet. When Dennis Rodman walked in to the bar, he said 'Riggs, I didn't know you had a beard.' For him to remember me was a really cool moment. It was a really good time."

Perry Saturn: "Perry Saturn is the only guy I know who is a Ranger that has had 103 successful jumps out of a perfectly good airplane and wear a dress in the ring."

Almost signing with WWF instead of WCW: "I was being groomed as a protege of Lex Luger in the WWF. Little did we know that on the first Nitro Luger has crossed over to WCW, if I had listened to Jerry Lawler and stayed on as Lex's protege, Lex wouldn't have been there anyway. I would have been lost."

The American Males theme song: "The great thing about that song is, the song as wacky as it is, it still stands alone today. Fans still remember that song."

Big Van Vader defeats Sting to become WCW World Heavyweight Champion - March 17, 1993

21 years ago on this day, Big Van Vader defeated Sting to win his 3rd WCW World Heavyweight Championship. In subsequent weeks, Vader successfully defended the title against Davey Boy Smith, Sting, and Dustin Rhodes. He went on to hold the title for 285 days before losing it to Ric Flair.

Carlito Speaks on His Father’s WWE Hall of Fame Induction

Former WWE Superstar Carlito recently commented in an interview about his father Carlos Colon being inducted into the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame class. He said he's proud of what his dad his accomplished in this business. He also spoke on the apple gimmick that got him over, what he's doing recently, and more. He also joked about Los Matadores, saying "they look a lot like Epico and Primo."

Carlito will be in action alongside Chris Masters, as they take on Matt Hardy and Hurricane Helms, May 10th for CFW.

Dean Malenko captures the WCW US Title on March 16, 1997

On this date 17 years ago on WCW Uncensored, Dean Malenko defeated Eddie Guerrero to win the WCW United States Title when Syxx came to ringside to try and steal the U.S. Title belt, distracting Guerrero, who had Malenko in a Texas Cloverleaf. Malenko picked up Syxx’ video camera and hit Guerrero with it for the pin.

Rob Van Dam Tweets About His WWE Return

Rob Van Dam continues to tell fans on Twitter that he will be returning to WWE soon.

As noted before, RVD's contract with World Wrestling Entertainment allows him to only work a certain number of dates, and then he takes an extended amount of time off.

Sting Says TNA Wanted Him to Dye His Hair Blonde Again

As noted earlier, Sting participated in a Q&A show at Camden Highlight Club in London last night. One thing worth mentioning is that Sting said that he had fond memories about the beach blonde Sting from the 1990's.

Sting also revealed that while he was in TNA, officials asked him to go back to it, but he then pointed out that he doesn't exactly have the hair to pull it off anymore.

Mark Henry Denies Retirement Rumours

Mark Henry worked last night's WWE live event in Austin, Texas, where he lives, and received a big pop.

After he defeated Damien Sandow, Henry cut a promo and told fans that the rumors of his retirement are not true. Henry said he has a lot left in the tank and isn't leaving WWE any time soon.

WWE Gives The "Middle Finger" To CM Punk

When CM Punk first walked out on WWE and the idea of Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H at WrestleMania XXX began being discussed, people in every aspect of the company did not believe that Bryan would get pushed. Something changed over the past few weeks and that was CM Punk deciding not to come back to the company.

A number of people in WWE have gone from being silent and patient when Punk first walked out to having attitudes like, "how dare he not come back and be a part of WrestleMania."

It's suggested within WWE that the "Yes Movement" angle with Daniel Bryan on Monday's RAW and some of the verbiage used was meant to be a "middle finger" to Punk and an underlying message that "this could have been you but now it won't be."

Will WWE change their WrestleMania finish ?

This week on Raw, Triple H agreed to face Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania but a stipulation was put forward by Bryan which Triple H accepted. The Stipulation is "If Daniel Bryan beats Triple H at WrestleMania, he gets added to the WWE World Heavyweight Title match in the Main Event of WrestleMania XXX".
But before this stipulation, Batista was scheduled to win the Title at WrestleMania & go on to hold the title till SummerSlam where he was scheduled to face John Cena or Daniel Bryan. But now if Bryan is scheduled to win the title at WrestleMania, then Batista gets completely out of the title picture & if he's out of the title picture, his return is a complete waste.
So we can't count out the original finish of the match where Batista was scheduled to win.

Possible Reward for Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy Winner

Rumours suggest that officials are planning to have a reward for the winner of the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy. Winner of that Battle Royal might get a WWE World Heavyweight Title match in future.

WWE Diva Returns After Rumors of Retirement

WWE Diva Layla made her return to the ring at Friday night’s live event in Waco, Texas. She teamed with Alicia Fox and lost to the team of Eva Marie and Natalya when Fox tapped out.
This was Layla’s first match since the September 23rd, 2013 RAW. It’s been reported that she was given time off due to personal reasons and health reasons. At one point, it was reported that some people within WWE believed she may never wrestle again.
This sets up two potential Diva returns for Monday’s RAW with Layla and Naomi.

Big update on Sting

Here are the highlights of a Q&A show at Camden Highlight Club in London last night :

Sting got a great ovation and was very tight lipped about his future but it appeared that he’s signed with WWE based on some answers that were given.

* He want to face The Undertaker in his last match. He’s not interested in fighting other opponents in WWE or independent promotions
* He was on YouTube doing research by watching the Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels match
* Hasn’t watched the TNA product since he left, but has been purposefully (his exact words) watching RAW for the past few weeks
Other highlights:
* Mentioned his three favorite matches were vs. Flair for 45 minutes at Clash Of Champions 88, his first World Title victory and Starrcade 97 vs. Hulk Hogan
* Mentioned he disliked working with Vampiro in WCW & he wasn’t fond of working with Robocop
* Mentioned he didn’t feel that Hogan took his spot when he joined WCW
* Rated Shawn Michaels & Kurt Angle as top two wrestlers
* Credited Scott Hall for giving him the idea behind the Crow look
* Responsible for Goldberg joining WCW as he used Lex Luger & Sting’s Atlanta gym
* Disappointed about not having a proper feud with Bret Hart in WCW
* Sting couldn’t remember who the Dangerous Alliance were and doesn’t follow the product so was unable to mention a favorite match not involving him.

More Possible Evidence Of Vince McMahon Returning After WrestleMania XXX

Some have called it “notable” that Stephanie McMahon left out mentioning her father when talking about how her great grandfather and grandfather built this company, and now she owns it, during her heated exchange with Daniel Bryan during the “occupy RAW” segment this past Monday night.
As previously reported, there is a possibility that Vince McMahon will be returning to television as a regular character following WrestleMania XXX in April.

WWE Star Done Wrestling ?

Another Former WWE Diva Pregnant

Reports suggest that Mickie James is pregnant. She has reportedly been accepting more signing gigs as of late and telling promoters that want to book her that she is unable to take bumps in the ring.
The father of Mickie’s child is reportedly TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Magnus. We noted earlier that Mickie revealed in a recent radio interview that she and Magnus got back together after splitting up for some time.

Old School Stars to feature on NXT

A WWE source notes that it will be interesting to see how things develop with WWE’s developmental territory NXT. WWE views the show differently now that there are more people watching it on the WWE Network. The primary focus with NXT will always be to develop future stars for the main roster but it’s not the sole focus now that NXT has essentially turned into its own brand.
Word is that Triple H has been talking about bringing back a few acts from WWE’s past to have them work as NXT regulars. He was pleased with Too Cool’s performance at NXT Arrival and is looking for more acts from the past that can be mixed in with the NXT rookies.

AMC Networks Interested In Buying WWE ?

The rumors of AMC Networks being interested in purchasing WWE comes from the Betaville blog. They wrote:
“Good sources tell me cable group AMC Networks has been sniffing around World Wrestling Entertainment Inc, the US-listed company behind those ridiculous wrestling programmes, such as WWF, Raw and Smackdown.
AMC Networks has held at least one exploratory conversation with WWE – which saw its shares rise by about 30pc during last week – about some kind M&A transaction in recent months, according to “people familiar with the matter”. However, the talks are understood to have not gone anywhere.
Another source said bankers from UBS have been advising AMC Networks, owner of Sundance TV, on a potential deal and financing options.
This well-placed source said any transaction may value WWE at between $2.6 and $2.8bn.”
It should be noted that a deal between WWE and AMC is by no means a certainty. The chances of WWE selling are very slim. WWE’s George Barrios told Bloomberg last week that the company is not in merger talks.

Ken Shamrock takes a dig at CM Punk & Triple H

Former WWE Superstar and UFC Hall Of Famer Ken Shamrock recently appeared as a guest on the “Asked with Riv & Landin” show. During the interview, Shamrock spoke about a number of WWE and MMA related topics, including the recent controversy surrounding CM Punk.
When asked for his thoughts on Punk possibly entering MMA, Shamrock noted that he would have no chance if he were to start off at the UFC level, and that he should start at the bottom due to the fact that he has no experience as a professional fighter.
Shamrock also spoke about Punk’s current situation with WWE, going as far as to call him a “spoiled brat” for walking out on the company when he didn’t get what he wanted, and claimed that he is suffering from “spoiled brat syndrome.”
“The World’s Most Dangerous Man” also spoke about Triple H, noting that Hunter dislikes him because he had to put him over several times during Attitude Era. Shamrock claimed that “The Game” strongly dislikes putting other people over.

Road Dogg Injured

Road Dogg is dealing with a back injury that’s kept him out of action for a few weeks. No word yet on the extent of the injury. There had been talks that the New Age Outlaws would challenge The Usos for the WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania XXX, but it remains to be seen if the match will actually take place.

Bad Backstage News on Batista

A new internal list was made this past week with the 5 names that WWE is projecting to be their 5 biggest Superstars going forward after WrestleMania XXX. Those names are John CenaDaniel Bryan,Randy OrtonSheamus and Roman Reigns. The biggest surprise is that Batista is not on the list.

Possible Situation at WrestleMania XXX

According to me, Triple H & Daniel Bryan will have a grueling match but as we all know, Triple H will be defeated & Bryan advances to the Main Event Title match. Triple H gets pissed by this & attacks Bryan after the match & assaults him with a Sledgehammer.

Then throughout the night Michael Cole will discuss with the announce team "Guys how in the world is Daniel Bryan gonna be able to compete after that vicious attack by HHH?". But in the end Bryan will over come the odds and win the Triple Threat title match at WrestleMania & send the fans home happy.
.

Backstage News on Kane's WWE Future

WWE Superstar Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, has opened up an insurance company in Knoxville, Tennessee along with his wife. The Jacobs Agency offers auto, motorcycle, RV, boat, home, life, and commercial insurance, as well as retirement planning.

Kane has reportedly been telling people around his home area that he has been thinking about retiring from WWE for quite some time now, but he makes good money from it and it would be hard to walk away from it as long as he is still healthy and able to perform.

It's also been well-documented that Kane is a political fanatic and there has been talk for a long time that he might be interested in running for office in his hometown or maybe for the state.

Regarding his future in WWE, there's no word yet on exactly how long he plans to stay with the company, but as previously mentioned, he doesn't really want to walk away from the good money he makes from it.

Jim Ross's relation with WWE worsens

You may have noticed on the March 3rd RAW, before the Sheamus vs. Christian match, JBL started talking about how much he liked Vince McMahon as an announcer. Jerry Lawler then asked how he would compare Vince as an announcer to Jim Ross. JBL said Vince was better because he could speak English, and then said it's like comparing horse manure to ice cream, which was a line Bobby Heenan used in 1991.
Apparently this was done because certain people within WWE were very upset at Jim Ross for telling a story on Opie & Anthony about Vince McMahon sharting himself during a segment in the Attitude Era. Ross told how Vince was working with Gerald Brisco, who has a notoriously weak stomach, in the gorilla position backstage and before going out, Vince went to fart in Brisco's face to make him vomit but accidentally sharted on himself. Vince went out to do his segment, with the brown stain in his pants visible, but none of the cameramen were brave enough to shoot it.
That's all Ross told on Opie & Anthony. At the time it happened, the story was that Vince came back, changed clothes and was holding the dirty pants in his hand. Vince tried to chase Brisco down with it to make him vomit, and Triple H grabbed Brisco to hold him so he couldn't get away but Brisco used one of his old amateur wrestling moves and escaped.
The story Ross told on Opie & Anthony made its way across the internet and to sites like TMZ. The jabs at Ross on RAW were clearly set up and JBL is often the voice of Vince on commentary. Another sign the segment was set up is that Lawler and Ross are legitimately best friends.
